There is provision for sling/stacking loops on the nosecap and barrel band, but none are present. Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece smooth wood with nosecap, barrel band, handguard cut for the front scope base, pistol grip, straight comb, sling swivel in the belly and a checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor over a storage compartment in the butt. The scope has threaded lense caps, clear glass, and scattered light wear in the body, in about Very Good condition. Attached to these mounts are rings holding a Unertl 6x scope with crosshair reticle. There are two male dovetail bases, one mounted to the barrel just behind the barrel band, the other mounted to a cantilevered base screwed to the rear of the barrel, hanging back over the chamber ring.
The right of the receiver bridge has been drilled and tapped with a Lyman 48S aperture sight installed, adjustable for windage and elevation. The sight accepts interchangeable inserts with a translucent aperture insert currently installed. Sights / Optics: The front sight is a globe-style sight integral to a banded base pinned to the front of the barrel. The safety is marked “SAFE READY” and the magazine cutoff is marked “ON OFF”. The top of the Remington barrel is marked “R A / flaming bomb / 4 – 44”.
